The Ears have it

Finding electronics and stereo equipment manufactured by American workers is a difficult task.  However, a bright spot in this rather bleak American manufacturing sector is Sleek Audio.  Sleek Audio is run by Mark and Jason Krywko, father and son respectively.  Mark and Jason both hail from the hearing aid industry.  Their extensive experience in that industry gave them the knowledge to design earphones that have unbelievable sound and their custom earphones may be some of the coolest things I have ever seen.  Their entry-level earphone, the SA-1, sells for $79.99; the body of the SA-1 is made from Siam rosewood.  Their CT-7 custom-made earphones cost $699.99.  All of the Krywko’s headphones can be configured in a wireless setup. I first learned about Sleek Audio when I read  an article on “reshoring” in SmartMoney.

About John Briggs

I live in Seattle and love telling stories about Americans, the places where they work and the things that they make. I have just published a book, Simply American, encouraging Americans to purchase American made products; the book can be ordered at Lulu.com.
