What is the South famous for aside from yummy food?

I have never visited the South.

But that will soon change.

Two firms I am featuring in my book, Simply American, Putting Our Extended American Family Back To Work, are located in the South and I have plans to visit both before the end of the year.  Loggerhead Apparel in South Carolina and Jack Donnelly Khakis in Georgia are both great firms and both produce cotton apparel using American fabric hand crafted by members of our extended American family.

And the South is famous for cotton.

I discovered another great firm making cotton goods, but these products aren’t worn like Loggerhead Apparel polos or Jack Donnelly Khakis.  Yet they are stylish and can keep you warm.  Simply Home features all sorts of throws, Afghans and other great products for your home.  Simply Home’s parent company, Weavetec, makes these wonderful products for your home in three plants in South Carolina and one plant in Virginia.  Weavetec just celebrated their 25th year anniversary.  Members of our extended American family who work at Weavetec were honored for their many years of  loyal service.

I would encourage you to check out the Simply Home website the next time you are in the market for throws, afghans and pillows for your home.  A few of my favorites are the Fat Cat Pillow,

my State’s pillow and

the Lab Christmas stocking for our dog Buddy.

Buddy our dog will soon have a new buddy.  We are getting a Lab puppy next week; while Buddy is a chocolate Lab, our new puppy is a white Lab.

His tentative name is Snowy, which is the name of Tin Tin’s dog.  We will have to get another Lab Simply Home Christmas Stocking for Snowy in the next few months.  But I know that Snowy will enjoy his Christmas morning chew toy more, knowing that it was delivered in a Christmas stocking that was made by his family members who work at Weavetec.  He is after all an American Lab.
