Lights, camera, action!

I often hear a common complaint.

“I want to buy more products manufactured in the U.S., but they are tough to find.

Well, one retailer that is making it easy to go on a “one stop, all-American” shopping trip is Room&Board.  Room&Board sells furniture made in the U.S.  I am very excited that they are opening a brand new shop right in my backyard here in Seattle.

But I am also excited that as a result of the opening of the Room&Board store, I got interviewed on our local CBS affiliate, KIRO 7.  If you click on this link, you can see the KIRO story on Room&Board which includes some of my interview.  I am on screen for about ten seconds, but in that brief span, two things become very clear.  First, I like hearing the sound of my own voice.  Second, I am really old given the amazing amount of grey/white in my beard and mustache.  Still, it was the first time I was on TV and I must admit it is a bit strange watching yourself on TV.  Given my ten second appearance, I calculate that I still have 14 minutes and 50 seconds of fame coming to me at some point in my life.

The Room&Board store opens at University Village in Seattle on October 22.  Come on down and check out lots of great furniture made by members of our extended American family.  If you live in the Puget Sound area and want to buy great furniture made closer to home, head down to the McKinnon Furniture showroom at 1201 Western Avenue.  If you want to see the amazing McKinnon Furniture being made at the Wood Shop, when you are at the showroom ask if you can get a tour.  If you don’t have time for a tour, just click on the video of my tour of the Wood Shop shot earlier this year.
