Nissan is turning over a new Leaf

Nissan-Leaf

I am very happy to report that soon you will be able to buy an all-electric Nissan Leaf manufactured by members of our extended American family.  Nissan has been building cars in Smryna, Tennessee for the last few years.  It is retooling its car manufacturing plant so that it can produce 150,000 Leaf cars annually.  In order to do so, Nissan is hiring 850 Americans to carry out the work.  Which includes winding over a mile of copper wire to form the electric motor for the Leaf; I think my arms would get tired if I had to wind a mile of copper wire, but our extended family members in Tennessee are tougher than me.  While Priuses still are the car of choice in the Emerald City of Seattle, Leafs are gaining in popularity.  It is nice to know that I can know be green and create jobs for Americans at the same time.

Way to go Nissan!

  1. Good stuff. I have solar panels on my house so maybe someday I can power my electric car with my roof!
