Mea Culpa

On my last post, I erroneously stated that Allen Edmonds’ boat shoes were made by members of our extended American family.  They are not.  Thanks to a comment from my friend Jack A., I learned that those boat shoes are made in the Dominican Republic.  Sorry!  And thanks to Jack A. for setting me straight.

About John Briggs

I live in Seattle and love telling stories about Americans, the places where they work and the things that they make. I have just published a book, Simply American, encouraging Americans to purchase American made products; the book can be ordered at www.simply-american.com.

  1. Allen Edmonds still make great shoes. As far as the boat shoes, I made the same mistake. I bought some last year and then and only then did I find out they were made in the Dominican Republic. -Jack A
